Rams vs Seahawks Thursday Night Football Preview Both Teams at 11-3 Fighting for NFC West

This is the game right here. This is what the NFL is supposed to be about.

Rams at Seahawks tonight. Thursday Night Football. 8:15 PM ET on Amazon Prime Video. Both teams sitting at 11-3. Both fighting for the NFC West crown. Winner takes control of the division. Loser falls into wild card chaos. This is the kind of primetime matchup we live for.

You literally cannot ask for a better Week 16 matchup.

The Rams have been the surprise of the season honestly. After all the Stafford retirement rumors in the offseason. After losing key pieces. After everyone wrote them off. Here they are with one of the best records in the conference. Sean McVay remains the best coach nobody talks about anymore.

Seattle though. Geno Smith has turned into a legitimate franchise quarterback when literally nobody saw that coming. The defense has gone from liability to strength. Mike Macdonald’s scheme is giving offensive coordinators nightmares across the league.

The division history makes this extra spicy. The Rams and Seahawks genuinely dont like each other. Go back to the Legion of Boom days. Go back to all the physical games. Go back to the trash talk. This rivalry has real beef.

Key matchup to watch: Rams receiver situation. Davante Adams has been dealing with a hamstring issue all week. Hes listed as questionable which in NFL speak usually means hes playing but might not be 100%. If hes limited Seattle can focus more on Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp.

The over/under on this game is 47.5 which tells you oddsmakers expect a defensive battle. Both teams rank top-10 in scoring defense. Both teams can control the clock and limit possessions. This could absolutely be a 24-21 type game decided in the final minutes.

My honest prediction? Rams 27 Seahawks 24. McVay in primetime just hits different. Stafford has the playoff experience edge. And playing in Seattle is tough but the Rams have done it before.

But honestly I could see this going either way. Thats what makes it appointment television.

If youre a fan of actual football – not fantasy points not gambling not drama but actual football – you want to watch this game. This is two well-coached teams playing meaningful games in December. This is why we watch.
